ARTIST'S COMMENT:

                   Several years ago I ran across Don Divecchio's poem NEWBURY STREET and asked permission to display the poem along side a painting I had in mind.  It occurred to me that I could incorporate the poem into the painting but only by sacrificing the design.  I reminded myself that the political/social opts the aesthetic.
